This just started happening to me recently. I spent most of the summer in physical therapy for a shoulder I am one of those crazy Halloween people shirt, and some of the exercises have apparently loosened up my sternum so that it cracks now. It freaked me right the fuck out because I’m in my 50s and had NO IDEA this shit could happen. Maybe once I calm down it will feel cool. Right now, I’m just expecting my entire rib cage to fly apart like Vera and the straws, and I’m not prepared for that level of dismemberment.

I’m 21 with a joint condition that makes me hypermobile so I’ve had multiple occasions where I’ve heard every single I am one of those crazy Halloween people shirt (and more) crack simultaneously. The sternum was a new one for me recently though and I thought I had dislocated a rib in the front because it was so loud and uncomfortable. Started happening to me in the sternum a few months ago, I first chalked it up to costochondritis due to doing weighted dips, but after seeing a doctor and even getting an Xray (the rib on the right-hand side sticks out a little, thought it might be related) they said there was no abnormality with my chest.

Everybody here is talking about how satisfying it is to get that sternum pop, which I agree, but why is no one talking how uncomfortable is the feeling when you know you need to pop it but you cant. It feels like there is something pulling your chest muscles inside of your I am one of those crazy Halloween people shirt. It happens to be when I workout my chest and I hate it so much. Talking about working out. When I work out my lower and middle back (DLs or rows or I just sit badly for a long time) my back muscles get exhausted and I get incredibly restless that night. It’s like there is excess energy in my back and I have to move it, but it doesn’t help. It’s incredibly hard to just lay still and fall asleep. Anyone else got that?

If that doesn’t work, lie on the floor and extend your Trending shirt above your head and bring them down around your body (like a snow angel) and then put both elbows on the floor. (My sternum cracks a lot and when it doesn’t crack, everything hurts. These are the two methods that almost always work).
